The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) in Mpumalanga is currently visiting the Fernie 2 Community Hall in Mpuluzi to render companies on the community.

SASSA will probably be rendering services like new social grant applications, change of payment method, consumer treatment enquiries, and also the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) COVID-19 grant enquiries.

In an announcement, the agency claimed it's alarmed with regard to the high range of people relying on social grants for survival.
“The purpose from the Integrated Registration Outreach Programme [ICROP] is to reach-out to the higher amount of clients/beneficiaries to access SASSA services.

“This is often a result of the lack of infrastructure at Fernie and there's no totally functional office committed to service the area on a daily basis. The support point created for intervention encounters a substantial influx of probable beneficiaries, which makes it complicated for your office to attend to all people who go to a service point.

“In this reach-out programme, SASSA SRD will mobilise much more sources to allow the servicing of all customers and SRD boost use of Social Assistance providers,” the agency said.
